Welcome to the first Femme Guild Newsletter!
A bi-monthly email with the latest news, events and Femme articles of interest.
Would you like to be more involved in Femme Guild?
The Guild is run for it’s members, and we would love your participation, thoughts, and of course your help.
…We’re currently discussing the planning of the Femme Conference in February, inclusion in the Mardi Gras festival, and of course, Fair Day.
Femme Guild Social Event
Our next FG event is the ‘Femme Flash Mob’, a night to raise the visibility of Femmes while having delicious cocktails at Madame Fling Flongs (King St Newtown), Wednesday 7 November. We’re hoping to arrive on mass at 8.30pm, so wear your favourite outfit and come along with your Femme buddies, supporters and allies. If you’re feeling shy and don’t know anyone, just email…and we’ll organise to meet you before hand!
On 5 December, Femme Guild is holding a movie night in conjunction with Queer Screen – the queer comedy porno, ‘Mommy is Coming’, confronting that great taboo of Mummy/Mommy play. http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/mommy-is-coming/trailer. A gold coin entry to raise funds for the Femme Conference, and there will be lucky door prizes as well. Venue and time to be confirmed, so keep your eyes peeling on our Facebook page for the Event.
The 2nd Femme Conference, ‘Unpacking Femme’, is booked for the weekend of the 8th of February 2013 – and we’d love your help!
Is there a certain speaker (International or Australian) that you think would be a great to have at the conference?
Do you have a topic, skill or performance that you’d love to share with the Femme community?
We’d love to hear your thoughts, submissions and ideas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The full submission document will be available shortly.
WE WANT YOU to take part in the conference.
The Femme Guild team would love to assist anyone Femme-identified who would like to contribute content to the Conference. For great inspiration, check out Femme Conference 2012’s (USA) Schedule of Events (oh my gosh, topics on body hair, confronting racism, Femme competition and failing at Femme? Amazeballs).
We’re here to help support you with ideas on how to explore a topic, what kind of supplies you might need (and we can provide), how to approach other participants and any other questions you might have – just email email@example.com.
