Welcome to the January 2013 newsletter – and happy new year!

Its only 2 1/2 weeks to the Femme Conference! 8-9 Feb, UTS, 733 Harris St Sydney
We are so happy to announce our amazing keynote speakers – Amber Hollibaugh, Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarashina and Kath Duncan. To read their full bios and for more information just visit our website. The program will be available online shortly after the application closing date.

We have limited space for Femme-centric stalls and community information stands. Just contact us for more info.

Now available here – we’ve tried to keep the price down so all members of our community can afford to attend.
Friday evening:   $5 member /conc; $8 non member
Saturday all day:   $10 member /conc; $12 non member

Lemons with a Twist – 1 Feb, 6-10pm
Our next social event is Lemons with a Twist at Slide (41 Oxford St)!
Femme Guild is coming along to do a bit of Femme-visibility and conference promotion, and we’d love to see you there too. If you’re coming alone and are a bit shy, just shoot us an email at  and we can meet you before hand.

Memberships for 2013 open on 1 February 2013
Membership applications and renewals open again on 1 February 2013. Femme Guild is 100% volunteer run, and your dues go towards paying Public Liability Insurance, Fair Day Stall costs, the Femme Conference, Website costs and many other fees. Full Membership is $15, Concession is $10.

Some of the benefits of membership include: Member-priced tickets to Femme Guild and Kindred events, automatic inclusion in the Mardi Gras Parade when Femme Guild has an entry, and not to mention belonging to an inclusive and welcoming group of Femmes!

Would you like to be more involved in Femme Guild?
The Guild is run for it’s members, and we would love your participation, thoughts, and of course your help.
… We’re currently discussing the planning of the Femme Conference in February, inclusion in the Mardi Gras festival, and of course, Fair Day.

1 February, Lemons with a Twist at Slide (41 Oxford St). $10 entry.

4 February, Femme Guild general meeting. 6.30pm, ACON offices, 414 Elizabeth St Sydney. Meet downstairs at 6.30pm sharp.

8-9 February, ‘Unpacking Femme’. The second Femme conference at UTS, 733 Harris St Sydney.
Please join us for a welcoming soiree after the Friday session, 9pm – 10.30pm at the Loft Bar, on the grounds of UTS.

10 February, Mardi Gras Fair Day. 8am – 4.45pm, Victoria Park, Camperdown

16 February, Sydney DOB Bike and Tattoo Show, 12 noon, Kurrajong Hotel in Erskineville

17 February, Sydney Leather Pride Slave Auction Fundraiser, 3pm at the Oxford Hotel

2 March, Mardi Gras Parade, 8pm Oxford St

Fair Day Sunday 10 Feb

We’ve extended our ‘Unpacking Femme’ theme across to our Fair Day Stall, on the Sunday straight after the Conference.

Come on down to Victoria Park (Camperdown) and Unpack some Femme love as we turn our stall into a giant package of Femme-mazing-ness.
Its a great way to meet new Femmes, talk to cute strangers and promote Femme-visiblity to the wider GLBQTI community.

Reminder – Femme Guild isnt fielding an entry this year… BUT….
